Structure

It is recommended that your CV is accompanied by a Cover letter, in which you briefly (in not more than 10 lines) describe:

  • The position for which you are applying
  • How did you find out about the open position
  • Why you are interested in this position and this company
  • Why you think you are the right fit for this position (how would you contribute to the company’s progress) – here you should mention your professional experience and highlight these skills, which are most directly related to the open position

Example

The cover letter starts as follows:

Company name

Attn: Head of HR (if you know the name and exact position of the person, responsible for hiring, it is recommended you use them)

Dear Mr. / Mrs. ……..,

…………………………………………..

……………………………………………

The letter should end as follows:

I am looking forward to your reply.

Sincerely,
Name and signature

Advice

Our advice is to write a new cover letter for any new position you apply for. The cover letter is oriented towards the respective employer and conveys the message of why they should consider your CV and why they should invite you to an interview.

TIP: Before you send your cover letter and your CV, check carefully for spelling mistakes. It is recommended that you save each document as a separate PDF file.
